| Prayer and Positive Thought List for Dogs With Cancer |

| Welcome to our prayer and positive thought list for dogs battling cancer. For thousand of years, people have prayed for sick loved ones. But does it work? Most religions strongly believe in the power of prayer at their very core, but the subject has gotten much recent attention thanks to people such as Dr. Elizabeth Targ. Dr. Targ studies the effects of prayer and other types of distant healing on terminally ill patients, and has completed a number of studies on the subject in the last six years. She found that many patients who were assigned healers felt better than those who weren't, and their chances of living were increased, regardless of their religious beliefs. As a result of her work, many now believe that such healing techniques should be considered a legitimate form of therapy. Even the U.S. government is studying the power of prayer and other types of "distant healing" as treatment for persons who are HIV positive and diagnosed with AIDS, as well as other terminal illnesses with grants through the National Institute of Health (NIH). Whatever your religion, the power of positive thinking is universally acknowledged to be helpful in times of need. If you would like to add your dog's name to our list, please use the submission form below. Each Sunday night, we light a candle and pray for all the dogs on the list. We do this at about 8pm EST so if you like, please light a candle (in candle therapy, red is thought to burn out cancer) and join our candlelight community. |
